Lieutenant Eric Meier has worked for the Riverside Police Department for 23 years. He began his career as a Police Officer in 2002 and has since held the ranks of Officer, Detective, Sergeant, and Lieutenant. Over the course of his career, he has worked in Field Operations, Gangs, Investigations, and Internal Affairs, and has served as a Field Training Officer as well as a member of the department’s collateral SWAT team.
Promoted to Lieutenant in 2021, Eric worked in Field Operations and later served as the Central Area Commander. He is currently assigned to the Community Services Bureau and serves as the Chief’s Adjutant.
Eric earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from California State University, San Bernardino. A lifelong Riverside resident, he and his wife are proud to be raising their two children in the community they call home.
